Mote Marine
The
Aquarium features the extraordinary sea life found off Florida's coast and
showcases Mote Marine Laboratory's marine world renowned science research.
There's fun for the whole family here. There are several exhibits including
a shark tank, a touch tank, and a manatee exhibit.
Selby
Gardens
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota has been named one of the Top Ten
Botanical Gardens in America by Country Living Gardener Magazine.
Selby Gardens’ have world renowned orchid and bromeliad collections, as well
as its butterfly, banyan, bamboo and other display gardens. More than 20,000
plants are represented in the seven greenhouses, with thousands more in the
surrounding outdoor area.
John & Mable Ringling Museum
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art
includes 21 galleries of internationally recognized European and American
art with paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Poussin and other baroque masters.
In addition, the estate encompasses Cŕ d'Zan, the recently restored 32-room
Ringling mansion; the Circus Museum; the Original Asolo Theater; the Rose
Garden and beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking Sarasota Bay.
Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
A purple, seashell-shaped building designed by
Frank Lloyd Wright, this unique performing arts hall presents Broadway
musicals, national and international performers, world renowned symphony
orchestras and classical, modern and ethnic dance.
Flying Fish Fleet
The Flying Fish Fleet offers three large vessels for
fishing trips into the Gulf of Mexico. The Flying Fish and the Flying Fish
II are large party fishing boats that run on a regular schedule of Half Day,
Six Hour and All Day trips. The Big Catch is
our private charter boat that carries up to six guests for custom fishing
trips.
Le Barge
This
fun ship with palm trees and live tropical music cruises in Little Sarasota
Bay and Roberts Bay for dolphin watches, sightseeing and sunset trips.

both public and private use.
There are several types of eco-tours including a Sea Life Encounter Cruise,

This restaurant
is an Old Florida treat. Located on the Braden River, there is a huge
Florida Wildlife Exhibit on display throughout the restaurant. Grilled
sandwiches to full dinners.
Sarasota Film Society
The Sarasota Film Festival has an annual
celebration of film each January that is dedicated to exploring the best new
stars of Independent film. Peter Belsito said “…is a busy, well organized,
public festival with terrific support from one of the Southeast’s great
genteel beach communities, and hands-down has the best festival parties
since Cannes.”
Asolo Theatre
The Asolo
Theatre Company produces and presents high quality professional theatre for
Sarasota. The Asolo performs primarily in rotating repertory with a resident
company.
Sarasota Ballet
The Sarasota Ballet of Florida has achieved a
dynamic standing among the arts organizations in the culturally rich
Sarasota area. The Ballet has the unique distinction of being voted
Sarasota’s Best Performing Arts Group for eight consecutive years.
Sarasota Opera House
The
Sarasota Opera’s outstanding productions are presented in the acoustically

Florida West Coast Symphony
Florida West Coast Symphony is a unique,
multi-faceted organization, which embraces a dual commitment to both

Pelican Man
The
Sanctuary cares for many different types of wildlife, and a permanent home
is provided for the disabled who would not be able to survive in the wild.
The Sanctuary, with its meandering boardwalks winding between the thirty
pens, is an educational treat for the whole family.
Myakka
River State Park
Myakka is one of Florida's largest and most
diverse natural areas. The "Florida Wild and Scenic" Myakka River flows
through 45 square miles of wetlands, prairies, hammocks and pinelands. The
river and its two shallow lakes attract a myriad of wetland creatures making
birding, canoeing, fishing and wildlife observation popular activities. Ride
in the World’s Largest Airboat or hike above the trees on the canopy walkway
- Old Florida at its best.
